About Angie Monko
Angie Monko is an experienced certified hypnotist, acupressure practitioner with emotional freedom technique, and holistic life coach. She specializes in helping busy professionals in their 30s-60s to reclaim their freedom from weight loss issues, overcoming fear, stop smoking, and stress management. Angie helps them to love themselves first, creating a space of self-acceptance and self-forgiveness. She has great intuition and connection with her clients. She deeply cares about their healing and believes in the power and potential within each person.
Angie was overweight and miserable and really hated a large part of herself. She wasted SO much energy on worrying about her next meal, feeling guilty about what she already ate, and thinking she looked disgusting. Well, no more! Angie is so grateful to tell you that she was able to change all of this, and she can help you do the same. Angie has worked with many clients on weight loss, stress management, stop smoking, and overcoming fears. She's confident she can help you too.
Angie Monko believes that your healing is truly an artistic creation that arises out of you, herself and a spiritual partner, call it God or the Universe or Higher Power. This is her gift, and Angie would like to help you begin to align your powerful subconscious with your conscious desires.
Ever since Angie was in college, she wanted to be a psychologist but was encouraged to get an accounting degree for monetary reasons. She passed the CPA exam on her first try and practiced public accounting for 7 years. She spent another 14 years in industry as a controller and later a finance manager.
Over the years Angie began to change. She was more interested in helping people to heal themselves than in financial profits. She had always been an introvert and looked within for answers. She wanted to help others do the same thing.
She is a compulsive overeater and in 2002 found a twelve-step program that helped put her on the road to recovery. Angie learned that she used food to cope with life, and she hated her body and part of herself. She sponsored many people in this program, and one day, someone approached her and asked if she ever thought of being a life coach.
She wasn't familiar with life coaching. Because Angie had begun listening for clues or "coincidences from the Universe" as to her destiny, she decided to pay attention and check into it. A friend referred Angie to a business coach in Canada who then referred her to a coach that lived one block away from her in St. Louis! She met with this woman who introduced her to an acupressure technique called emotional freedom technique (EFT) or meridian tapping. Talk about coincidence.
That was a fateful day, and Angie fell in love with acupressure immediately and what it does to help people. It has been a major lifeline for Angie and her family and friends, and it became the foundation for Angie's business, Harmony Harbor Hypnosis, which she created in 2007. Angie found that hypnosis was a natural complement to EFT, since both work with the subconscious mind.
Angie has studied all nine of Gary Craig's EFT courses and has her Advanced Certificate in EFT (which was no longer recognized by the EFT community when Gary retired). She is also a certified hypnotist and a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists and has an office in Maryland Heights, Missouri. She has a full-time coaching business, using acupressure and hypnosis as tools, and helps clients with weight loss, stress management, stop smoking, and overcoming fear. Angie is happily married to her husband, Steve, and they have two teenage daughters, Chelsea (18) and Maddie (17).
