And sometimes, when we are willing to sit there in the damp, smelly basement and just listen to the importance attached to each one of those old, worn out, moldy pieces of "junk," we are able to glimpse the gifts that each of those worn-out bits and pieces of life have to offer. As we patiently find ways to appreciate those unexamined moments, we can dust them off, clean them up and offer them to others as life-lessons well-learned.

How inspirational and moving to hear Maddie be so authentic and accountable for her feelings and choices. It takes great courage to expose those parts of our heart and mind. She is much farther along than she realizes....accountability is a great sign of maturity...! a note to her - sweet girl, the future is supposed to be "secret"....something we all want to grab ahold of yet no one can see. We''re all growing just one day at a time and not meant to figure everything out all at once. It''s a process and it evolves so kudos to you at such a young age to be exploring the truth and being intentional about growing and getting to know yourself better. It''s a life journey and we''re not meant to do it alone. God loves you. I think the world of you! Hugs to you, Maddie!

Maddie, the fact that you can put into words the struggles you are dealing with shows a tremendous amount of wisdom and maturity. I wish you well as you find your way and just remember to love yourself, mistakes and all, as you go along this journey of life. One thing I have learned is that you need to treat yourself with the same kindness you would give a friend who was struggling with something. Hugs!

Hi Angie. This made me cry...in a healing way with mixed blessings. You sould so healthy in mind and spirit. This move can only enhance your relationship with your daughter. Love you, always will ! Thinking about moving back to St Louis. It''ll take a few months. I need a job in place, and a place to live.I need to be around my daughter to remind myself that I am a mom ! Seeing her once a year for three days is ridiculous ! If you know of someone who wants to rent a space in their home, let me know. It wouldn''t be before June 1st. Katy

Hi Maddie,
It's so gladdens me to read how you have progressed and have come to accept yourself.
Your mom's suggestion that one just needs to be aware of our surroundings. It's so refreshing
to learn a new way of looking at an old belief-and you are right that 80% of healing is awareness.
So I am very happy for you that you have overcome so much and are continuing to grow and
learn in a positive way.
Best,
Fredda
