Are you enjoying the beautiful fall leaves?

Have you taken time to stroll down the sidewalk, walk in the woods, lie in a hammock and gaze at the heavens?  I don’t know what it is but I just love trees and especially when they change color here in the Midwest. Maybe it’s because the trees seem so happy. They seem so content without really doing anything, but being.  It’s kind of like my dog, Kipper.  It makes me feel content just watching him sleep.  I think our True nature is like that of the trees and our dogs.

Why do we cover up our bliss with so much activity? I think it’s for the same reason we are afraid to change, our ego (see other article).  Our ego tries to convince us we cannot be happy until we have accomplished our to-do list, until we have enough money in our bank account, until we weigh a certain amount, until we’ve given enough, and ad infinitude.  How absurd when you really think about! So in honor of this principle of “We are enough without doing anymore” I am going to end my article and consider it enough!

I usually feel I have to write a novel to feel complete, but not tonight.  I’m going to spend time with my two teenage girls and enjoy a relaxing evening (Steve is playing pool tonight). Happy Fall to You!  Like the changing leafs that color and die and re-emerge in the spring more beautiful and vital and alive, you change your outside colors too, but your Essence remains and you always return to You.
