Morgan and I record our videos a few weeks ahead of time,
and with everything happening in our world around the
corona virus, we want to make sure to send you relevant
and timely information.
So we’re bumping up this email a week ahead of schedule
to help you with managing your energy around the fear and
stress that you may be experiencing.
Morgan and I are huge fans of meridian tapping (also known
as emotional freedom techniques). It’s a brilliant technique
that allows you to acknowledge what you’re currently feeling
without triggering your body’s fight or flight response. It
calms the nervous system, brings blood back to the front
of the brain, allowing you to think.
With everything going on in the world, we can easily pick
up on others’ energy, and we can feel very unsafe with all
of the unknowns, the financial/economic impact, our and
our loved ones’ health and life, loneliness, feelings of guilt
that we’re not doing enough to help, etc.
There is no better time than NOW to learn tapping.
Tomorrow (3/26) Morgan and I will be doing a Facebook Live
at 10am CT to address some common concerns and
support you in this time.
The premise of tapping is that all negative emotions are
created by a disruption in your body’s energy system. So
any time you get upset, your energy gets out of whack. You
experience this as anger, fear, jealousy, sadness, etc.
Meridians are like rivers of energy that run up and down the
length of your body, on both the right and left sides.
If a huge log fell across a river, touching from one bank to the other,
it would obstruct the flow of water, would it not? The water would
slow down, and if the tree was big enough (hypothetically), it might
stop the flow altogether.
Your body’s energy system is similar. If you experience a small
or large trauma, your energy gets disrupted and doesn’t flow as
well. When you tap with your finger tips on these meridians,
which are the beginning points of your energy rivers, the energy
begins to flow again.
The effect is that you feel better, lighter, relieved. So check out
the video to learn the mechanics of how to tap.
You can use tapping for anything that is bothering you. Since
our specialty is helping women to stop people pleasing, you
can use it to overcome the fear of what others think of you.
You can tap on the fear of appearing stupid or foolish.
Now more than ever, we need to be strong in ourselves. We
need to stand our ground, speak our truth and be real. When
we value ourselves enough to take really good care of ourselves,
we can show up for others and support them. It’s a win-win.
And tapping not only allows you to release feelings and thoughts
that keep you frozen and feeling bad about yourself, once you’ve
released enough of the dis-empowering feelings, you can insert
positive replacement choices, such as “I wonder what would happen
if I was open to the possibility of starting to speak my truth?”
With tapping, you acknowledge your feelings, whatever they are,
and you verbally say “I love and accept myself anyway.” This is
so powerful and creates much self compassion.
The world is in such need of leaders who are grounded, calm, and
yet informed and decisive. Neither of these approaches will work:
To be overly Pollyanna positive to the point of denial of what’s happening
or to live in fear and panic mode. We need balance.
The tapping can give you this balance. It can calm your brain’s
animal fears and allow you to think clearly and rationally so you can
make good choices for yourself and others.
So if you’re wondering what to say, simply tap and talk like you’re
confiding in a best friend. Tap on what you’re feeling, focusing on
one emotion at a time if you like. You can’t mess this up! It’s a very
forgiving process. The only way to not benefit is to do nothing.
Let us know if you have any questions and how we can support
you. Sending you so much love. We will all get through this together.
