A friend just asked me what I think about Bruce Jenner, the 1976 Olympic decathlon men’s event champion and American television personality, who came out as a transgender woman this year, now known as Caitlyn Jenner.
My response: “I’m a pretty open-minded person. I don’t have a problem with a person changing their sex. Life is all about creating a fun experience and being tolerant and joyful and at peace.
If this sex change helps Bruce/Caitlyn to feel more all of the above, my motto is if the action doesn’t intentionally hurt me or anyone else, go for it. Now, her action may “hurt” other people because they get
outraged and indignant and judgmental, but their opinion is none of Caitlyn’s business.”
There are lots of opportunities for us to practice tolerance and diversity, aren’t there?
There are gays, lesbians, transgender, kids born with down syndrome, kids with autism, and SO many
other scenarios. Why do I lump them all together?
Well, some feel that the first category of folks are at choice with their sexual orientation, whereas the latter category are caused by a combination of genes and environmental factors.
My point in lumping the two categories is simply to get you to slow down and and ask yourself how you
FEEL when confronted with people who don’t think like you do, who don’t look like you do, who don’t act
like you do.
We are constantly being “tested” with our views and beliefs. Other people’s beliefs and physical manifestations can make us very nervous, huh?
I’m here to take a stand for tolerance and FREEDOM. We are all entitled to our beliefs. Let others have their beliefs, just as you have yours.
I believe we are meant to have FUN during this human experience. We could all stand to lighten up a bit, not take things too seriously.
I’m the first to admit I have work to do in this area, but I’m getting better and better every day!
I am examining HOW I do what I do daily. Am I having fun? Am I getting too bogged down in the
daily monotony of life?
Let’s not go through life unconscious and unaware! Sure, awareness is painful at first. BUT it gets
easier as we practice what we really want.
Self improvement CAN be fun. I’m guilty of making it too serious in the past, but NO MORE!
Let’s do this together! Let’s create a life of FREEDOM by moving towards Truth!
