It can be very threatening to challenge your belief systems (BS) because it shakes your very foundation. How much do you want a better life? How hungry you are is pivotal. I’m a big fan of Jerry and Esther Hicks. In their book, The Amazing Power of Deliberate Intent, they talk about the importance of your desire aligning vibrationally with your beliefs. Here is an example. Desire: I want to be healthy and slender and attractive and weight 130 pounds. Belief: I’ve struggled with weight my whole life and carried an extra
15 pounds, and it’s getting harder to maintain my weight now that I’m over forty.
Your emotions tell you the disparity between your desire and belief. You may want to weigh 130, but if your dominating belief is like the above, you won’t ever get there permanently. So reach for beliefs that feel better. Create a habit of thinking that supports your desire and create vibrational congruence between your desire and belief and watch your desire manifest. New Belief: I choose to be okay with my body today even though I’m not where I want to be. I don’t have to continue to struggle with my weight; that’s my choice. New Belief: I choose to open my mind and heart to the possibility that I can release this weight easily and joyfully.
Notice how much better you feel when you read the two new beliefs rather than the energy-draining first one. The authors also recommend another very simple technique to change your vibration. When you think something that causes you to feel bad, such as I’m so fat and always will be, catch yourself and replace it with “Wouldn’t it be nice if I could just relax and trust my body to release this weight? Wouldn’t it be nice if I could eat foods in moderation and savor/enjoy every bite without guilt and shame?”
Perhaps you are beginning to understand how important your emotions are in guiding you to health, wealth, happiness and abundance. To quote from the book, “….by following the trail of increasingly good-feeling emotions, you will project vibrational rockets into your future, which will yield a steady stream of lovely creations.
Now, when you feel frustration mounting or impatience or anger surfacing, you can stop in a moment of true realization and ponder: Just what am I projecting into my vibrational escrow? Should I take a moment now and redirect my thoughts and change the course of my probable manifestation, or should I just let my thoughts run away with me–supported by the Law of Attraction–and just live the consequences of my un-managed, undirected thoughts?” After understanding this, you will truly grasp how powerful your mind
is, and that it is your choice right NOW to experience joy, peace and love. Goals are a lot of fun to work toward and to achieve, but Hicks says that our true emphasis has always been upon the 99% of the creation that happens PRIOR to manifestation.
In other words, enjoy the NOW moment, feel good NOW, and live for the journey! If feeling good is important to you, question your BS!
